Creative Circular Cities brings together Aarhus, Gdynia, Kiel, Riga, Tallinn, and Turku to test how culture and creativity can support the circular transition. From helping circular businesses grow to connecting people and engaging communities through arts and culture, each city is trying its own approach.

Aarhus is reimagining community spaces through a circular approach. Led by the City of Aarhus Climate Secretariat and the Lifestyle & Design Cluster, these hubs connect residents, businesses, and experts to spark new ideas.

In Gdynia, circularity begins with the second life of things. Led by Gdynia Design Centre and Association "Pomorskie in the EU", the city connects unwanted furniture and bulky waste with new owners, new uses and creative local businesses.

In Kiel, circularity is becoming a shared culture, led by Anschar, Zero Waste Kiel, and Heinrich Böll Foundation Schleswig-Holstein. Through community repair and upcycling festivals and circular design programmes, the city encourages residents, entrepreneurs, creatives and NGOs to rethink how materials are used.

In Riga, circularity grows through collaboration. Led by the Riga Energy Agency, the city connects residents, businesses, NGOs and public institutions through community-led public spaces and circular economy networks, from a library garden to a circular economy forum.
