Introduction

Gdynia, Poland

In Gdynia, circularity begins with the second life of things. Led by Gdynia Design Centre and Association "Pomorskie in the EU", the city connects unwanted furniture and bulky waste with new owners, new uses and creative local businesses.

Strategic approach

Gdynia's strategic approach

Gdynia's approach focuses on reducing waste and extending the life of bulky household items through reuse, repair, upcycling, and circular innovation. Building on the CCC project, the city brings together creative businesses, designers, cultural organisations, municipal stakeholders, and residents to develop citizen-centred reuse solutions and circular value chains. By supporting creative entrepreneurship, public engagement, and cross-sector collaboration, Gdynia uses culture and creativity to make circularity more visible, accessible, and attractive. As part of the CCC project, the pilots demonstrated how creative approaches can transform bulky waste into a valuable resource for the local circular economy. Click the button and find out more.
