19 Jun 2025 CCC project partners participate in EU Green Week event in Riga On June 16–17, partners of the CCC project came together in Riga to exchange updates, explore shared activities, and discover local initiatives focused on circular economy. A key highlight of the meeting was the EU Green Week partner event – a Circular Economy Breakfast featuring local organisations. The event was held at Sadarbnīca, a newly opened community space and workshop where people can repair or build items and collaborate on sustainable ideas.

09 Apr 2025 CCC partners meet in Gdynia to launch the Pre-Commercial Procurement process and review pilot progress From 25 to 28 March, partners of the Creative Circular Cities (CCC) project from the six demo cities gathered in Gdynia, on Poland’s northern coast, to launch the Pre-Commercial Procurement (PCP) process, share updates on their pilot projects, and plan collaboration on business incubation programmes. The meeting was co-organised by Gdynia Design Centre, the Association Pomorskie in the EU and the Danish Cultural Institute.

28 Mar 2025 Project story: Riga’s experience in bringing circularity to life Riga Energy Agency (REA) is the implementer of the “Creative and Circular Cities” project in Riga. The agency is responsible for implementing circular economy principles in the city and participates in several international projects dedicated to circularity. In this interview with Ieva Kalniņa, REA’s international project manager-coordinator, you will learn more about the creation of a circular outdoor space in Riga’s district Bolderāja and the engagement of citizens in all stages of this project. The conversation also touches upon the Circular Economy Forum the agency is organising this autumn and sources of inspiration in other Baltic Sea region cities, which have allowed Riga to better understand the principles of community involvement and to establish the Collaboration space “Sadarbnīca” in its current form – as a platform for events about circular economy and a workshop where every resident, under the guidance of a craftsman, can repair things or make something new.

30 Jan 2025 CCC project partners from Turku launch a creative circular economy idea incubator From the end of January until April 2025, Art House Turku will be transformed into a circular economy idea incubator where circular economy experts and creatives will seek circular economy solutions for the lifestyle industry. The multidisciplinary teams will meet in five workshops bringing together the skills, experience and creativity from different sectors.

12 Jun 2024 CCC cities refine their business incubation pilots in Aarhus From 4 to 6 June the municipality of Aarhus in cooperation with Lifestyle and Design Cluster hosted the second workshop of the “Creative Circular Cities” project – a Business Lab. During the Lab the six cities taking part in the project – Aarhus, Gdynia, Kiel, Riga, Tallinn and Turku – refined their business incubation pilots for facilitating CCSI-supported circular business models.
